Our Story
A cancelled date, missed connections, & a dog named Durango (or more often, Doodle)
On a Friday in June of 2019, Kev canceled his first date with Britt. Lucky for him, the next night they ended up at the same bar in Calgary. She spotted him, walked over, and said “you’re buying me a drink!”. He ended up buying her three.
As they got to know each other over the next few weeks, they realized they had many missed connections over the last few years. The most surprising had to be that they both studied abroad in Milan in 2018. Britt managed to find a candid photo of them (shown to the right) during a student trip to Verona, and while they were sitting only a few feet apart, they wouldn't meet for over a year.

Britt and Kev spent just three weeks together before she moved to New York. It only took two of those weeks for them to confess they were in love. After a tearful goodbye, Britt boarded her plane. Not twenty-four hours later, Kev bought a last-minute ticket to visit her.
After the first of many blissful weekends in New York, Kev asked Britt to make things official, and so began several years of back and forth visits. In early 2020, Britt returned to Calgary. What was supposed to be a short stay turned into a six month trial of living together, and they came through it for the better.
Going back to long distance was difficult, so Kev followed his heart, quit his job in Calgary, and moved to New York. With Britt’s encouragement, he pursued his dream of going to culinary school and together they explored everything the city had to offer. They forged close friendships, adopted a pup, and tried as many restaurants as they could find. Their favourite discovery was a small neighbourhood spot named Plado. They would return there many times over the years, including to host a small engagement celebration with friends after a magical proposal trip to St Lucia. On the trip, Britt shared her love of scuba diving with Kev and they enjoyed diving together each morning followed by relaxing afternoons by the pool.
2022
After getting engaged, the two embarked on a new adventure: moving to London with their pup Durango. The first couple of months in Notting Hill were filled with garden dinners, trips to the park to play fetch, and travel around Europe. During a trip to Italy, Britt and Kev fell in love with La Pescaia. The villa felt like the perfect intimate setting to enjoy food, wine, and the Italian sunshine with friends and family.
